Darkness Descends as the Wolf Returns

Busch Gardens Williamsburg is howling with excitement in 2025 as it unveils its latest family-friendly thrill ride: The Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge. This new coaster isn’t just another attraction; it’s a tribute to a legendary ride while bringing a bold new adventure to life.

A Legendary Story Comes to Life

Set in a bustling Bavarian village during the legendary Festival of the Silent Bells, the celebration quickly spirals into chaos. Glowing red eyes pierce the darkness, and bone-chilling howls echo through the night, signaling the return of a terrifying creature. Riders become the beast, racing across the German countryside on North America’s longest family inverted coaster.

The name, chosen after 30,000 fan votes in a passionate naming contest, pays homage to the original Big Bad Wolf coaster, a beloved classic that thrilled guests from 1984 to 2009. The iconic suspended coaster was renowned for its sweeping turns through the village and breathtaking drops over the Rhine River. By giving the new ride a name that nods to this legendary attraction, Busch Gardens honors its legacy while launching a fresh and family-friendly experience.

Family Thrills for All Ages

With over 2,500 feet of track and speeds reaching 40 miles per hour, The Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge is designed to be thrilling yet accessible. Perfect for families, the coaster allows kids as small as 42 inches to ride with a supervising companion (or 48 inches to ride solo).

“This attraction is unlike anything we’ve ever done before,” said Kevin Lembke, Busch Gardens Williamsburg Park President. “We’ve created an experience that combines storytelling with family-friendly thrills. Guests will feel completely immersed in the story of the Bavarian village, as the sound of screams and the echo of a howling wolf creates chaos in the familiar town.”
