Big news for Disney fans and travel lovers—The Walt Disney Company is heading to the Middle East for the very first time. In a major partnership with, Abu Dhabi’s top destination developer, Disney just announced plans for an all-new Disney theme park resort set along the stunning shores of Yas Island in the United Arab Emirates. That’s right—Abu Dhabi is about to get a little more magical.
This new resort will become the seventh Disney theme park destination in the world, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most ambitious yet. From what we know so far, it’ll be packed with all the Disney favorites—characters, attractions, immersive lands, themed hotels, and dining—but with a distinctly Emirati twist. Think Disney charm meets sleek, modern architecture and rich regional culture.
According to Disney CEO Bob Iger, this won’t just be another Disneyland. It’ll be an “oasis of extraordinary Disney entertainment” that blends contemporary design with cutting-edge technology. Expect deeply immersive experiences, modern storytelling, and new ways to interact with beloved Disney characters. And since Yas Island already features attractions like Ferrari World and Warner Bros. World, this resort will expand an already impressive entertainment lineup.
Miral will take the lead on development and operation, while Disney’s Imagineers—the same team behind attractions like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and the new Zootopia land—will shape the creative vision. The result is expected to reflect both Disney magic and the forward-looking spirit of Abu Dhabi.
This location isn’t just visually stunning—it’s also strategically smart. Abu Dhabi is within a short flight of over two billion people and hosts one of the busiest airline hubs in the world. That means Disney’s stories are about to reach an even wider global audience.
While we don’t have an opening date just yet, the announcement alone is enough to get the travel world buzzing. It’s not every day a whole new Disney resort is revealed, and this one promises something truly different. Whether you’re in the Middle East or halfway around the globe, this is definitely a destination to watch.
Would you add this new Disney park to your travel bucket list?
