From Mask to Movie-Perfect: Jack Skellington’s Park Glow-Up

Disney Unveils a Spine-Tingling New Look for Jack Skellington at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Hold on to your candy buckets, foolish mortals — there’s a brand new Pumpkin King haunting the Disney Parks this fall! In a delightfully spooky surprise, Disney dropped a major treat on Instagram with the reveal of a completely reimagined Jack Skellington face character — and fans of The Nightmare Before Christmas are screaming with joy.

Gone is the infamous “half-mask” that’s haunted fans for years. You know the one: Jack’s face was more “meh” than macabre, with a jawline that was more diamond than deathly. But no more! The new design finally gives our beloved bone daddy the full, rounded noggin he deserves — complete with articulated movement. Yes, Jack can now smile, open his mouth, and actually emote in ways that feel lifted straight from Halloween Town. It’s a huge leap forward in capturing the haunting charm and eerie elegance of Tim Burton’s original design.

And Jack isn’t the only one getting a gothic glow-up. Sally has had a bit of a makeover too — subtle, but oh-so effective. She’s traded in her bright red lipstick and cartoonish blue eye circles for a look that’s truer to her ragdoll roots: stitched accents, a darker lip, and minimalist makeup that still captures her stitched-up sweetness without overdoing it.

This big reveal was stitched into Monday’s announcement for the 2025 return of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World. Along with event dates, ticket details, and returning entertainment favorites, the unveiling of the new Jack and Sally stole the (after)show.

It’s not just a cosmetic upgrade — it’s a full-on resurrection of character authenticity, something die-hard fans have been hoping for since Jack started meeting guests in the parks over a decade ago. And while no official word yet on when this skeletal sensation will make his way to Disneyland Resort, it seems only a matter of time before both coasts get a dose of the upgraded undead.

So, what do you think? Is this the Jack you’ve been waiting for — or do you miss the old mask-y mystery? One thing’s for sure: Halloween Town just got a whole lot more real.

Stay spooky, friends — and remember, there’s only 200-ish days until Halloween.
