In the second episode of Super Mega Cakes, titled “Best Meal Ever,” the competition heats up as culinary memories are transformed into edible masterpieces. This week’s challenge tasks the two teams with crafting hyper-realistic cakes inspired by the best meal they’ve ever had—a deeply personal and visually delicious prompt.
On one side, cake icon Duff Goldman leads his crew in a tribute to one of his favorite meals: a luxurious crab leg feast. The end result? A jaw-droppingly realistic spread that captures the glossy, shell-cracking joy of seafood. With impressive sculpting and an eye for detail, Duff’s crab legs were more than convincing—they were captivating. The presentation was strong enough to win over the judging panel of Amaury Guichon, Sherry Yard, and Jacques Torres.
Facing off against him was Ashley Holt, who brought her creative fire with the help of teammates Inae Tirado and Monika Stout. Her concept? A down-home BBQ spread—complete with a hamburger, baked beans, and that smoky cookout vibe. It was charming, beautifully executed, and full of clever moments, including a humorous finishing touch: a custom bottle of “Duff-B-Gone” spray aimed playfully at the competition.
While both teams delivered exceptional cakes, full of flavor, memory, and detail, it was Duff’s seafood spectacular that ultimately clinched the $10,000 prize and moved one step closer to the grand finale.
This episode was a reminder of how food, memory, and artistry collide in the most unexpected ways—and it left viewers hungry for more.
