In Super Mega Cakes Episode 4, titled “Ocean Predators,” the kitchen dives deep—literally—as teams are challenged to create towering cake displays featuring ferocious sea creatures and floating elements. It’s a marine-themed melee with Duff Goldman and his crew taking on Henderson Gonzalez, Jujhar Mann, and Timmy Norman. Judging this deep-sea spectacle are Amaury Guichon, Sherry Yard, and Paul de Gelder—a real-life shark attack survivor, no less.

Duff’s team delivered an intense and cinematic cake featuring a shark lunging out of the water in pursuit of an octopus. But that’s not all—the scene also included an osprey swooping in for the same octopus, while the octopus itself was reaching for jellyfish as its own potential prey. It was a layered moment of oceanic chaos, beautifully executed in sculpture and concept. The only downside? The water effect. The use of buttercream to simulate the ocean didn’t quite land, creating a visual that felt more chaotic than polished. Still, the storytelling and creature work were nothing short of brilliant.

Team Henderson, on the other hand, delivered an absolute showstopper. Their cake told the story of a goblin shark on the hunt for an octopus deep beneath the sea, surrounded by a vibrant coral reef and a gallery of realistic underwater life. Every detail was clean, vivid, and expertly placed. From texture to movement to underwater atmosphere, the execution was nearly flawless—earning the admiration of the judges and viewers alike.

In the end, Team Henderson emerged victorious, and rightfully so. Their underwater world wasn’t just a cake—it was a masterpiece. With incredible creature design, seamless composition, and no weak spots, they proved that sometimes, predators can be beautiful too.

Great job, Team Henderson—this was one for the books!
