SeaWorld San Antonio is once again stirring up excitement with the announcement of its next major thrill ride—Barracuda Strike, coming in spring 2026. This new addition will dive into the record books as Texas’ first inverted family coaster, giving guests the thrilling sensation of flying over water with nothing beneath their feet.

Park President Jeff Davis described Barracuda Strike as a “game-changer for family thrill rides,” noting that it will be fast, fierce, and fun. The concept perfectly fits SeaWorld’s oceanic storytelling—blending adrenaline and aquatic inspiration in one sleek, high-speed adventure.

So, what makes this new coaster stand out? For starters, Barracuda Strike will suspend riders below 1,800 feet of track, climbing a 90-foot lift hill before diving into tight turns and swooping drops at speeds of up to 44 miles per hour. The track will glide just above SeaWorld’s picturesque water ski lake, creating an exhilarating chase that mirrors the quick, darting movements of a real barracuda.

Even better, the coaster is family-friendly, with a minimum height requirement of just 42 inches. It’s designed as a perfect “gateway” thrill ride—ideal for younger guests ready to take their first step into the world of bigger coasters, while still packing enough excitement for seasoned riders to enjoy.

When Barracuda Strike opens, it will become SeaWorld San Antonio’s eighth coaster, marking the park’s third family-friendly addition in as many years. It’s clear the park is continuing its momentum in offering a strong balance of thrills for all ages.

And for those eager to be among the first to experience the ride, the park’s 2026 Annual Passes are now available, featuring perks like free parking, free guest tickets, and access to Aquatica. Pass Members will also score exclusive first rides on Barracuda Strike before it opens to the public.

With its sleek design, approachable thrills, and prime lakeside setting, Barracuda Strike looks ready to sink its teeth into SeaWorld’s growing lineup of standout coasters.

Stay tuned—2026 is shaping up to be another big year for coaster fans in Texas!
