Worlds of Fun is already off to a bold start for the 2025 season, kicking things off with an exciting slate of upgrades—especially in its Africa-themed section. With beloved coasters getting fresh looks, high-tech track improvements, and more guest comfort enhancements throughout the park, there’s a lot to roar about in Kansas City.

Zambezi Zinger’s Iconic Spiral Lift Hill Goes Enclosed

One of the park’s most recognizable features, the spiral lift hill on Zambezi Zinger, is getting a dramatic makeover. Currently under construction, the lift hill will be fully enclosed—offering a new sensory element to the ride and improving operational reliability. The revamped lift will still send riders seven stories into the air before dropping them into a twisting, low-slung ride through the woods at up to 45 mph. With this added enclosure, the experience is bound to become even more immersive.

Prowler Gets a Titan-Sized Boost

Prowler, the park’s award-winning wooden coaster known for hugging the terrain and delivering relentless speed, is getting a smoother ride thanks to more than 400 feet of new Titan Track. This steel-reinforced track is known for reducing maintenance while preserving the wooden coaster feel—promising an even wilder, more comfortable ride in 2025. Prowler isn’t the only ride to feature Titan Track; Zambezi Zinger incorporated it in its debut last season as well.

Mamba and Zulu Sport Vibrant New Looks

Visual upgrades are coming too—especially for fans of classic thrills. Mamba, the towering steel coaster, now slithers into the 2025 season in a vibrant green paint scheme, fitting more seamlessly into the Africa section’s evolving look. After 27 seasons, the refreshed color is a welcome touch to a coaster that still packs a punch with its 205-foot first drop and up to 75 mph speeds.

Zulu, the spinning flat ride that’s been thrilling guests since 1979, is also getting a splash of color. Its ride vehicles will be repainted in a bold palette of green, orange, redwood, and yellow, refreshing the ride without changing its spinning, high-g-force thrills.

Cooler Queues and Added Comfort

Heat relief is a top priority in 2025. Guests waiting for Boomerang will enjoy a new shade structure and an extended queue, making those summer lines more bearable. Similarly, Fury of the Nile is getting a shaded queue area to help keep guests cool before they take the plunge.

Over in the East Asia section, Spinning Dragons is also getting a queue shade addition—meaning more comfort across the park.

Oceans of Fun Updates: Paradise for Kids & Adults Alike

Across the property in Oceans of Fun, families will notice that Paradise Falls, the interactive water playground for kids, is getting a bright new paint job. Meanwhile, adults will have something new to sip on—frozen alcoholic beverages are debuting at 21° and Colder, located in the former Subway building. These icy cocktails will be perfect for cooling off poolside all summer long.

Dining Upgrades Continue

After its major renovation in 2024, Calypso Café is officially reopening this season. Guests can expect a refreshed dining experience to go with the updated surroundings of the park’s themed zones.

From thrilling ride improvements to creature comforts and culinary upgrades, Worlds of Fun is dialing up the excitement for 2025. With an early start to the season and major investments in its Africa section, this year is shaping up to be one of the park’s most dynamic yet.

Whether you’re a coaster fanatic, a family planning your summer adventure, or just someone looking to escape the heat with a frozen drink—there’s something wild waiting for you at Worlds of Fun.
