When survival means knowing who to fight and who to trust

Episode 4 of Twisted Metal, “WHZDARE,” pushes John Doe and Quiet further into the wasteland, forcing them to navigate shifting alliances, dangerous encounters, and the ever-present shadow of betrayal. This episode blends action with some of the darkest humor yet, reminding us that in this world, even laughter can come with blood on it.

Roadblocks and Choices

John and Quiet find themselves dealing with yet another obstacle on their delivery mission, this time in the form of a settlement where the rules are written in chaos. The choices they make here test both their patience and their fragile partnership. John wants to keep things lighthearted, but Quiet’s focus on survival keeps them grounded. Their contrasting approaches continue to add tension—and some of the best character moments so far.

Sweet Tooth Unchained

This episode gives Sweet Tooth even more room to shine—or terrify, depending on how you look at it. His theatrical flair, his warped sense of humor, and his sheer brutality are on full display. There’s something strangely magnetic about watching him—you never know if he’s going to make you laugh or flinch.

And this hit me with nostalgia again: I remembered those times playing the Twisted Metal games and always picking Sweet Tooth’s ice cream truck just to see the chaos unfold. He was always my favorite, and watching him go wild in live action feels like the perfect payoff for those memories. He’s the kind of villain you can’t look away from, no matter how twisted he gets.

First Impressions

Episode 4 keeps up the momentum by mixing shocking violence with unexpected humor, exactly what this series has been doing so well. The action is loud, the world feels dangerous, and the character dynamics are starting to pay off as John and Quiet become more than just uneasy allies. It’s the kind of mid-season episode that makes you realize the story is ramping up toward something bigger.

Personal Reaction

This one really landed for me because it balanced the humor with some of the grimmer parts of survival. The fact that the show can make me laugh one moment and then leave me stunned the next is why I’m hooked.

And of course—Sweet Tooth once again stole the spotlight for me. I’ll never stop enjoying how over-the-top he is. He’s the one character I remembered most from the games, and the show keeps proving why he’s the face of the franchise.

Four episodes in, and Twisted Metal hasn’t hit the brakes yet. If anything, it feels like the road ahead is about to get even bumpier—and I can’t wait to see where it goes next.
