If you’re a theme park fan who lives for the next big thrill, Six Flags Qiddiya City should already be on your radar. After years of anticipation, Saudi Arabia’s first of its kind theme park and fully realized entertainment destination is officially opening its gates on December 31. And this one isn’t just another addition to the Six Flags lineup. It’s being positioned as a global showcase of next-level rides, bold imagination, and industry-shifting coaster engineering.
Let’s dive into what we know so far about Six Flags Qiddiya City, what makes it stand out in the Six Flags family, and why thrill seekers may want to start planning their trip now.

What Is Six Flags Qiddiya City?
Six Flags Qiddiya City is the first Six Flags park outside North America, and it’s launching as the flagship entertainment anchor of Qiddiya City—a massive, master-planned destination built around play, sports, culture, and major events.
Set against the dramatic Tuwaiq Mountains and located about 40 minutes from Riyadh, the park aims to deliver unforgettable experiences for families, friends, and adrenaline-hungry coaster fans. With 28 total rides and attractions, including 18 designed for families and younger guests, the park is shaping up to offer something for every type of visitor.
And yes, it comes loaded with world-record heavy hitters.

Record-Breaking Roller Coasters
This is where Six Flags Qiddiya City truly plants its flag as something different.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the park will debut multiple world-first and world-topping coasters, including:
Falcons Flight
The star of the lineup and arguably the most anticipated coaster on the planet. Falcons Flight is set to become the world’s tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster. It’s been teased for years as a gravity-defying monster that hugs the cliffs of Qiddiya with speeds, drops, and track lengths unlike anything built before.
Iron Rattler
Not to be confused with the Texas original, this new iteration is the world’s tallest tilt coaster. Tilt coasters already push riders’ nerves by holding them over a vertical drop before releasing them—but making it the tallest ever puts it in a category all its own.
Spitfire
Another record-breaker, Spitfire will be the world’s tallest inverted coaster. Inverted coasters already deliver a high-intensity experience with dangling feet and sweeping inversions, so achieving a global height record is a bold statement.
These aren’t just standout attractions; they represent a deliberate push for innovation, suggesting that Qiddiya City intends to compete at the top level of global entertainment destinations.
A Park Designed for Everyone
Even with all those extreme thrills, the park isn’t only about pushing the limits. Families will have 18 dedicated attractions built for younger or more cautious guests, ensuring multi-generational appeal.
The park president, Brian Machamer, describes Six Flags Qiddiya City as a showcase of “bold imagination” and a new standard for global entertainment—something designed to reflect the overall mission of Qiddiya City itself.
Accessibility is also a priority. The park was designed to be fully accessible for all guests, including individuals with special needs and senior visitors, with discounted on-site ticket options.
