Six Flags Gold Pass Just Got Bigger with New Regional Access

Limited-Time Free Upgrade to Gold and Expanded Park Perks Roll Out for 2026

Six Flags is changing the season pass game in a big way for 2026, and if you’ve been on the fence about grabbing a Gold Pass, this might be the push you needed.

The company just announced a major upgrade to its Gold season passes and memberships: regional park access. Instead of being limited to just your home park, Gold Passholders will now be able to visit a designated group of parks within their geographic region. That means more coasters, more water parks, more events, and more road trip potential—all under one pass.

Six Flags president and CEO John Reilly summed it up best: they’re redefining what a season pass can be. And honestly, this feels like the kind of value move fans have been asking for.

How the New Regional Access Works

Starting in 2026, all Gold season passes and memberships will include access to a group of parks within one of four regions: West, Texas, Midwest, and East.

Each region bundles together major theme parks and water parks, creating a built-in travel lineup for passholders.

Texas Regional Pass includes heavy hitters like Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Schlitterbahn New Braunfels, Hurricane Harbor parks, Frontier City, and more. With Over Texas adding its Spain transformation and the record-breaking dive coaster Tormenta Rampaging Run in 2026, this region alone feels stacked.

Midwest Regional Pass might be the most coaster-loaded lineup of all. Cedar Point, Kings Island, Six Flags Great America, Canada’s Wonderland, and more are all included. Kings Island is adding Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare, and Great America is gearing up for its 50th Anniversary celebration.

West Regional Pass gives you access to Knott’s Berry Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Discovery Kingdom, California’s Great America, and even Six Flags Mexico. Knott’s is debuting MonteZOOMa: The Forbidden Fortress, while Magic Mountain introduces a new Looney Tunes Land family area.

East Regional Pass connects parks like Six Flags Great Adventure, Carowinds, Kings Dominion, Dorney Park, and Six Flags New England, which is launching Quantum Accelerator, New England’s first launched straddle coaster.

For fans who love chasing new rides and seasonal events, this is a huge shift. A Gold Pass is no longer just a “local park” ticket—it’s a regional adventure pass.

Limited-Time Free Upgrade to Gold

Here’s where things get even more interesting.

Select Six Flags parks are offering a limited-time spring promotion where guests can purchase a Gold season pass for the price of a Silver pass. That’s essentially a free upgrade to Gold at participating locations.

The offer rolls out in February, and details vary by park, so checking your local park’s website is key. Participating parks include:

West:
Magic Mountain, Discovery Kingdom, Hurricane Harbor Concord, Hurricane Harbor Phoenix

Midwest:
Great America, Hurricane Harbor Rockford, St. Louis, Worlds of Fun

Texas:
Over Texas, Fiesta Texas, Frontier City, Hurricane Harbor Oklahoma City

East:
Carowinds, Over Georgia, White Water, Kings Dominion, Great Adventure, Dorney Park, New England

If you were planning to buy Silver anyway, this promo makes Gold the obvious choice.

Perks for Existing Gold Passholders

Already locked in for 2026? Six Flags didn’t forget about you.

Existing Gold passholders and members will automatically receive regional access once their region launches. If you purchased an All-Park Passport, you’ll be upgraded to the Prestige level on February 27.

Those who grabbed a Gold pass during the 2025 MVP Sale keep their all-park access through 2026. Starting in 2027, active memberships will transition to regional access.

And if you want the ultimate tier, Prestige still includes all-park access and remains the most comprehensive option across the Six Flags portfolio.

What This Means for Fans

This move feels strategic. With such a wide portfolio that now spans legacy Six Flags and former Cedar Fair parks, regional access makes the brand feel more unified. It encourages fans to travel, explore, and experience different ride lineups without needing a separate pass for every park.

For families, it opens up vacation planning possibilities. For coaster enthusiasts, it turns one pass into a multi-park credit hunt. And for local guests, it simply adds more value without dramatically increasing cost—especially if you snag that free upgrade to Gold.

If you’ve ever said, “I wish my pass worked at more parks,” Six Flags just answered you.
