Worlds of Fun will be opening Boathouse Grill, 9,036 square foot flagship restaurant, in spring 2019. The restaurants will seat more than 300 guest as it will be the largest dining facility in the park. The restaurant will provide guest an enhanced dining experience in an outdoor seating with views of the park’s most popular rides such as Patriot and SteelHawk.
Boathouse Grill will be a tribute to the early days of Worlds of Fun and the three historic boats that opened with the park in 1973 – Henrietta, Cotton Blossom, and Victrix. All three boats were used as movie props and was purchased at MGM Studios in Hollywood. Boathouse Grill will be located very closely to Henrietta’s former location.
Chef Wesley Boston, a new executive chef, along with the culinary team has found ways to elevates the food offerings at the park. With the addition of Boathouse Grill, it will create a strides by creating a dining experience as good as memorable as the rides. Chef Wesley has worked in 22 states in a variety of kitchen settings over his 20 plus years career.
Construction on the new restaurant is expected to start during the offseason. When it opens its doors in the spring of 2019, Boathouse Grill will be Worlds of Fun’s flagship dining location. Who’s hungry for some good food? I know I am!
