Universal Theme Parks and Resorts executives announced there will be a new family friendly theme park in Frisco, Texas.
The park will be a kids-themed park with a family-friendly immersive experience and rides involving Universal movies, executives announced. It will also include a 300-room family-friendly hotel. People of all ages are welcome, but the park will be designed for families with children younger than ten.
Universal operates five theme parks worldwide and several more resorts.
The park will be about one-fourth of the size of Universal’s main theme parks. The Frisco park will be a scale appropriate for the young family audience. The Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex is becoming one of the fastest growing communities with young families.
Frisco is a very dynamic and exciting city as they are experiencing growth and have a really high family population and it might become a regional park but expecting to have visitors from out of state and country as well.
With a 300-room hotel being built as well, it can turn into a family vacation.
Universal is still in process with the Frisco city committee and council approval to move the project forward as this is an effort of a great partnership.
There is no specific timetable but the project is complex and will take some number of years. It is expecting to move fast as the community is continually to expand.
Frisco, TX
Frisco is a part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. While the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys are known to be the best football team in Texas, Frisco is known for the Cowboys training facility. The Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters and practice facility known as “The Star” are located in Frisco. A newly opened PGA Headquarter is also located in Frisco, TX.
With Universal coming to Frisco with a family focus theme, this will be a great addition to the community of Frisco as well as an economic boost to the local business in the city and surrounding areas. It’s also not far from Six Flags Over Texas which is based in Arlington, TX with a 40-50 minutes drive to Frisco.
