Universal’s legendary monsters are back—and this time, they’re not just in the movies. As Universal Horror Unleashed prepares to open its doors in Las Vegas on August 14, new details have emerged about one of its most anticipated attractions: the Universal Monsters haunted house. This sinister new addition will bring together the most iconic figures in horror history for one terrifying, nonstop encounter.
Housed within the ruins of a forgotten production warehouse at the AREA15 District, this haunted house plunges guests into a nightmarish tour of Universal’s greatest horror legends. The journey begins in the crumbling mausoleum of Van Helsing, the famed monster hunter, and continues through the gothic corridors of Castle Dracula, the dust-choked tombs of The Mummy, and the electric chaos of Frankenstein’s laboratory, where both Frankenstein and The Bride await. Each room is designed to pull visitors deeper into the darkness, bringing them face-to-face with monsters that helped define a genre.
But the terror begins even before you enter the haunted house.
As guests approach, they’ll enter Dead Storage, one of the four immersive zones scattered throughout the venue. Here, forgotten props, towering set pieces, and decaying relics of Universal’s golden age of horror become the playground for prowling monsters. Vampires lurk in shadows. A werewolf claws its way through transformation. Nothing stays still for long in this twisted gallery of the grotesque.
And when your nerves are sufficiently rattled, follow the steam and sparks to The Boiler, a fiery cocktail bar pulsing at the heart of Universal Horror Unleashed. Set in a looming mechanical inferno, The Boiler offers not just a drink, but a sensory overload. Flames shoot skyward. Metal groans and creaks. Shadows shift and scurry around you. It’s the perfect place to take a break—if you can call it that—while staying completely immersed in the monstrous mayhem.
These three attractions—Universal Monsters, Dead Storage, and The Boiler—join a powerful lineup that includes haunted houses themed to The Exorcist: Believer, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Scarecrow: The Reaping. Guests can also explore additional themed zones, grab horror-inspired bites and cocktails, and shop exclusive merchandise that captures the sinister spirit of the experience.
With its grand opening set for August 14, Universal Horror Unleashed marks Universal’s first year-round horror destination. Tickets are on sale now at UniversalHorrorUnleashed.com.
The monsters are waiting. Will you brave the darkness?
