The Traitors is a high-stakes reality competition that blends strategy, mystery, and social gameplay. A group of contestants — known as the Faithful — arrive at a remote castle to compete in missions that add money to a shared prize pot. Hidden among them, however, are a small number of secret Traitors.
Each night, the Traitors secretly eliminate one Faithful from the game. During the day, the remaining players debate, accuse, and ultimately vote at the round table to banish someone they believe is a Traitor. If all Traitors are eliminated, the Faithful split the prize. If even one Traitor survives until the end, that Traitor takes the entire pot.
Season 4 Overview
Season 4 of The Traitors premiered on January 8, 2026, streaming exclusively on Peacock.
Alan Cumming returns as host, once again bringing his signature theatrical flair, sharp wit, and ominous presence to the castle. His role as both guide and provocateur continues to be a standout element of the series.
Filming once again took place at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands. The dramatic setting, isolated atmosphere, and gothic visuals remain a perfect match for a game built on paranoia and deception.
As in previous seasons, contestants compete in physical and mental missions to build a prize pot worth up to $250,000, all while trying to survive nightly murders and intense round table banishments.
A Major Twist: A Returning Faithful
One of the biggest surprises of Season 4 is the return of a Faithful from a previous season. This marks the first time the series has invited back a non-winner Faithful for another shot at the game.
This returning player enters the castle with firsthand knowledge of Traitor behavior, alliance dynamics, and the psychological toll of the competition. While that experience could offer a major strategic advantage, it may also put an immediate target on their back as other players question whether experience equals deception.
