Halloween just got a little more wicked at McDonald’s! The beloved Boo Buckets are back for 2026, but this time, the Golden Arches have teamed up with Disney to give these nostalgic Halloween collectibles a villainous makeover.
Starting October 20, McDonald’s introduced five limited-edition Disney Villains Boo Buckets featuring some of Disney’s most recognizable troublemakers. And for someone like me who loves Halloween and Disney, this collaboration definitely caught my attention.
Of course, my kids were excited about getting their hands on one, too!
Five Disney Villains, Five Boo Buckets
Rather than bringing back the traditional pumpkin, ghost, and witch designs, McDonald’s decided to shake things up this year by putting five iconic Disney Villains in the spotlight.
The 2026 collection includes:
- Jafar (Red) – The power-hungry sorcerer from Aladdin.
- Ursula (Purple) – The legendary sea witch from The Little Mermaid.
- Scar (Orange) – The scheming lion from The Lion King.
- Maleficent (Green) – The Mistress of All Evil from Sleeping Beauty.
- Cruella de Vil (White) – The fashion-obsessed villain from 101 Dalmatians.
Each bucket features colorful character artwork, a themed lid, and a sticker sheet inspired by its villain. It’s a fun combination of Disney nostalgia and the Halloween tradition that McDonald’s fans have enjoyed for decades.
I particularly like how each character gets a distinct color that immediately makes the collection recognizable.
Our Family Got Jafar, But I Was Hoping for Ursula!
Well, my kids finally got their Boo Buckets today, and we ended up with Jafar!
Not a bad choice at all. Jafar is certainly one of Disney’s classic villains, and the bold red-and-black design looks pretty sharp. It definitely fits the collection.
But I have to admit, I was secretly hoping we would get Ursula.
Ursula has always been one of my favorite Disney Villains. Between her personality, larger-than-life attitude, and unforgettable appearance in The Little Mermaid, she’s the kind of villain who steals the show every time.
Plus, that purple Boo Bucket just looks fantastic!
So while Jafar has officially joined our family’s Halloween collection, I wouldn’t mind another McDonald’s visit to see whether we can get our hands on Ursula before the promotion ends.
Who knows? Maybe we’ll get lucky next time!
A Halloween Tradition With a Disney Twist
One of the things I appreciate about McDonald’s Boo Buckets is the nostalgia behind them.
The original Boo Buckets debuted back in 1986, and over the years, they became a familiar part of Halloween for many families. Those classic pumpkin, ghost, and witch buckets weren’t just Happy Meal packaging. They became little trick-or-treating companions, candy containers, and Halloween decorations.
After disappearing for several years, the Boo Buckets made their return in 2022, bringing that childhood nostalgia back for another generation.
Now, four decades after their original debut, McDonald’s is taking a different direction by introducing Disney characters into the Halloween tradition.
I can understand why some longtime collectors might miss the classic Halloween faces. Those original designs have a charm of their own.
Personally, though, I think the Disney Villains are a fun choice. They fit the spooky season nicely, especially for families who enjoy Disney movies and Halloween as much as we do.
And let’s face it, Disney Villains have always been pretty popular when it comes to merchandise.
Where Can You Find the Disney Villains Boo Buckets?
The Disney Villains Boo Buckets officially launched on October 20, 2026, at participating McDonald’s restaurants across the United States.
They are included with participating Happy Meals in place of the traditional Happy Meal box, with a themed sticker sheet included.
The collection is available for a limited time while supplies last, so availability and character selection may vary by restaurant.
If you have a particular villain in mind, you might want to check with your local McDonald’s to see which designs they currently have available.
Final Thoughts: A Wicked Little Addition to Halloween
I’ve always enjoyed seeing what kind of Halloween merchandise shows up each year, whether it’s something from the theme parks, a collectible figure, or even a simple Happy Meal promotion.
Sometimes the smaller collectibles are the ones that bring back the best memories.
The Disney Villains Boo Buckets are a fun way to celebrate the season, and I like that McDonald’s is doing something different while keeping its Halloween tradition alive.
Our family has Jafar for now, but I’m still rooting for Ursula to make her way into our collection before Halloween.
What about you? Which Disney Villains Boo Bucket would you want to get? Are you collecting all five, or just hunting for your favorite villain?
