Universal theme park fans have a fun new destination to watch: Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, Texas. This special park is the first Universal Parks destination designed entirely for families with young children. It’s packed with classic characters, immersive themed lands, and gentle attractions that still deliver excitement and discovery for kids and grown-ups alike. The resort is slated to open sometime this year, bringing its first two new lands into focus.

Watch the full concept preview below to see both lands come to life.

Jurassic World Adventure Camp

Step into prehistoric play and mild thrills at Jurassic World Adventure Camp. This newly revealed land is all about dinosaur discovery and fun family rides.

Visitors will soon be able to help track down the curious Ankylosaurus named Bumpy aboard Jurassic World: Cretaceous Coaster, a junior-friendly roller coaster with twists and turns perfect for young adventurers. This family coaster is similar in size and style to other young-family coasters at Universal parks, delivering gentle thrills without overwhelming intensity.

Other attractions include Mr. DNA’s Double Helix Spin, a playful spun ride inspired by the classic character, and Pteranodrop, a pair of small drop towers that lift riders for views across the park before descending. Kids can also explore Paddock Play, an interactive play area, and meet baby Velociraptors in themed encounters.

Dining and shopping round out the camp experience with Jurassic World Canteen and Jurassic World Outfitters, where families can fuel up and grab themed gear to remember the adventure.

Milestones & Coaster Facts:

  • Cretaceous Coaster serves as one of the first family-oriented roller coasters in the park.
  • Concept imagery marks the first public look at the coaster layout and ride experience.

SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom

Dive under the sea without getting wet at SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom. This vibrant Lego-like cartoon land brings Nickelodeon’s favorite animated undersea world to life with rides, play zones, and splash-inspired attractions.

One of the key highlights is Jellyfish Fields Jamboree, an aerial carousel-style ride where guests board Jelly Anglers and “jelly-fish float” around in whimsical motion. There’s also Barnacle Bus, a spinning ride where guests slide and spin aboard Bikini Bottom’s favorite ride. On calmer rides like Bobbing Barrels, families can splash and spin with functioning water cannons, blending playful interaction and visual spectacle.

A more interactive experience awaits at Mrs. Puff’s Boating School, where guests can take part in a gentle driving adventure. A fun play zone called Pineapple Paradise gives fans the chance to explore SpongeBob’s iconic pineapple home and surrounding water-play areas.

Milestones & Fan Highlights:

  • First theme park iteration of a Bikini Bottom-style ride lineup in a Universal Park.
  • Multiple rides focused on family interaction and character immersion.
