SeaWorld Orlando tease what’s coming in 2023

SeaWorld Orlando just revealed that they will be opening a new roller coaster in 2023.

The park didn’t reveal the name of the coaster or any other details other than a video rendering of the new ride.  In the video, it mention:

“Guests are invited to get ready to feel the power of the Pacific right here in Florida, letting the waves propel them into a one-of-a-kind ocean adventure.”

With the given teaser, it reveals a few things.  It seems like it will be a launched coaster which is not common with a B&M coaster.  The train model appears to be shaped like a “surf-board”.  Within the few frames, we are able to see that the riders are standing up while riding the coaster.  Is it possible that B&M is attempting to create an updated version of the old Stand-Up Coaster style using some of the elements they used for the wings coaster and new inverted coaster style.  It will be interesting to see what it will be up in the future update / announcement from SeaWorld Orlando.

Earlier this year, SeaWorld dropped hints about the project by referring to the construction around the park as a “landscape project” and also shared a photo of teal-color coaster tracks behind a pair of palm trees.  The park just acknowledges only the tree in the caption.

In early 2020, the company filed permits with Orange County for a project called “Project Penguin” which asked for work along the festival area and pathway between the Bayside Stadium and the front of the park.  After several delay with debuting Ice Breaker, they finally opened Ice Breaker in February and got a green light to start the Project Penguin.

Currently, SeaWorld Orlando is promoting themselves as a “Coaster Capital of Orlando.”  They are pretty spot on if you look at the coaster count below for all of the parks in Orlando.
