If you’ve been waiting for a reason to head back to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, this is it. Mardi Gras kicks off this weekend, and the park is once again transforming into a slice of the Big Easy — complete with bold Cajun flavors, high-energy live music, and a parade that showers guests in festival beads.

Running every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from January 11 through March 2 — plus Monday, January 20 — the celebration brings that New Orleans flair right into the heart of Tampa. And the best part? It’s all included with regular park admission.

From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere shifts. Expect colorful décor, upbeat tunes, and that festival vibe that makes you want to slow down, grab a bite, and maybe dance a little between roller coaster runs. After each dazzling parade, guests can catch beads as they rain down, adding that authentic Mardi Gras touch that fans love.

Let’s talk about the food, because Busch Gardens does not hold back. The park is serving up Cajun-inspired favorites that feel straight off Bourbon Street. You’ll find Shrimp Creole, hearty Po’ Boy sandwiches, Crawfish Étouffée, and warm, powdered-sugar-dusted Beignets that are practically made for Instagram. Pair it with a handcrafted Hurricane or another New Orleans-inspired cocktail, and you’ve got a festival experience that feels far from Central Florida.

Of course, this is Busch Gardens, so you can balance all that indulgence with world-class coasters and animal encounters. There’s something special about riding Iron Gwazi and then grabbing a plate of Crawfish Étouffée before lining up for the parade.

For frequent visitors, this event is another reminder of the value of an Annual Pass. Starting at $14.25 per month plus tax with no down payment, Pass Members can enjoy Mardi Gras along with popular events like the Food & Wine Festival and Bourbon & BBQ. And looking ahead, 2025 Pass Members will get first access to Wild Oasis, the park’s newest immersive realm, before it opens to the public in the spring.

Mardi Gras at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is available every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through March 2, including Monday, January 20, at the park in Tampa, Florida. For park hours and showtimes, guests can visit BuschGardensTampa.com and follow the park on social media for updates.

If you’re a theme park fan who loves when seasonal events meet serious thrills, this is one celebration worth adding to your calendar.
