If you’ve ever wandered through Adventureland and wished you could duck into a rowdy pirate pub straight out of Pirates of the Caribbean, your moment is about to arrive. The Beak and Barrel opens its doors on August 29, 2025, bringing with it a trove of pirate lore, themed spaces, and a menu filled with both daring and delightful flavors.
A Pirate Pub with a Story to Tell
Founded by the spirited rumrunner Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn and her sharp-tongued feathered first mate, Rummy, The Beak and Barrel is more than a place to grab a drink—it’s a living part of pirate legend.
Rummy, who now keeps watch from a lofty perch above the bar, may look familiar to long-time Disney fans. He bears a striking resemblance to the original Barker Bird from the entrance of Pirates of the Caribbean, ready to swap stories and lead the occasional toast.

Step Inside the Pirate’s Life
The tavern is divided into distinct spaces, each brimming with detail:
- The Mess – Once the mess hall for Spanish soldiers, now a long-table gathering place for boisterous buccaneers. An imposing wax-covered anchor hangs above, and the bar itself is pieced together from the remains of a cursed shipwreck—complete with the mystical Enchanted Rum Bottle gifted by Tia Dalma.
- Captains’ Quarters – The refined (but battle-scarred) former living quarters of a Spanish commander. Burn marks, slashed drapery, and missing portraits hint at a rowdy past. Keep an eye on the miniature ships in glass bottles—they’ve been known to come alive in fierce battle.

A Treasure Trove of Flavors
The menu is as adventurous as the décor, offering options for all ages.
Non-Alcoholic Sips
- Treasure Trove – Ube, lemon, and coconut served with sweet pirate treats.
- Cursed Treasure – Cookies and cream in drink form, topped with a pirate’s gold cookie.
For the Bold and the Brave
- Kraken’s Catch – A tangy marinated octopus salad with peppers, avocado, and almond foam.
- Cook’s Corn Griddle Cakes – Cheese-filled corn cakes with your choice of roasted corn and poblano or chipotle-braised chicken.
Cocktails with Character
- Salty Seas mARRRgarita – Ube-infused tequila margarita with a vibrant purple hue.
- Siren’s Whisper – Rum, citrus, spice, and the mythical siren tear.
- Plunderer’s Punch – Kraken rum, blackberry, and citrus in a souvenir skull mug.
- Plus unique pours like Port of Call, Lit Fuse, Barrels Ablaze, and the Hibiscus Rum Punch Royale.
Beer lovers will find exclusive drafts such as Pirate’s Paradise Blonde Ale and Berried Treasure Session Sour, while wine drinkers can sip selections from across the globe.

For a final flourish, The Beak and Barrel offers themed merchandise, including a tavern-inspired T-shirt and a parrot shoulder plush, available next door at Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar.
Mark Your Map
Reservations open August 14, 2025, and this will be one port of call worth securing early. Whether you’re in it for the lore, the drinks, the bites, or the immersive atmosphere, The Beak and Barrel is set to be the newest jewel in Magic Kingdom’s treasure chest.
If you’d like, I can also create a shorter, more playful “pirate journal” style version of this blog that reads like it was written by Rummy the parrot himself, for a bit of extra charm and marketing punch. That could make it even more shareable.
