When the sun sets on Carowinds this fall, the thrills turn into chills as SCarowinds presented by SNICKERS® returns for select nights from September 12 through November 2, 2025. Celebrating 25 years of fear, the park has transformed into a nightmare playground of haunted mazes, sinister scare zones, electrifying shows, and after-dark rides on fan favorites like Fury 325.
New Horrors for 2025
This milestone year brings some of the most ambitious attractions in the event’s history, including the headline Defex 2.0 presented by M&M’S®, where guests tour a charred doll factory hiding unspeakable secrets, and Silver Scream Studios: DIRECTOR’S CUT presented by SKITTLES®, where you step directly into deadly movie sets.
Perhaps the most talked-about addition is The Conjuring: Beyond Fear — a separately ticketed SCREAMium experience that plunges guests into iconic scenes from New Line Cinema’s The Conjuring Universe. In a 20+ minute interactive adventure, you’ll work alongside Ed and Lorraine Warren to contain cursed artifacts before evil entities like The Nun and The Crooked Man escape into our world.
Haunted Mazes & Scare Zones
This year’s haunted mazes promise scares both indoors and out, including returning favorites like Paranormal Inc., Tooth Fairy, and Slaughter House: The Final Cut presented by SNICKERS®. Access to mazes requires a Haunted Attractions Pass, sold separately from park admission.
The terror isn’t confined to the mazes — Scare Zones engulf the park in a constant state of fear. New for 2025, Cleaver Brothers: Sideshow of Screams resurrects a long-lost circus, and Glitch traps you in a neon cyber-nightmare where rogue AI rules. Returning zones like Harvest FEAR and The Hollow keep the shadows crawling.
Shows That Thrill and Chill
Between screams, guests can take in all-new live entertainment like DepRAVEd, a techno-fueled dance battle for your soul, or The Bon Bons Burlesque Troupe, a glamorous yet gory cabaret. Park-wide moments like The Awakening ensure the monsters don’t just stay on stage — they roam freely.
