Halloween Horror Nights is preparing to take us back to Hawkins once again, but this time, we will not be walking through a haunted house.
Universal Orlando has announced Stranger Things: Return to Hawkins, a new lagoon water show coming to Halloween Horror Nights 2026. The production will combine memorable music, frightening monsters and fan-favorite moments from across all five seasons of the Netflix series.
Tune In to WSQK
The show invites guests to tune in to a special broadcast from WSQK, the fictional Hawkins radio station introduced in the final season of Stranger Things.
Through the broadcast, guests will relive major moments from the entire series while scenes unfold across the lagoon. With five seasons of adventures, monsters and emotional storylines to pull from, there is plenty of material available for what could become one of the most nostalgic shows in Halloween Horror Nights history.
The idea of presenting the experience as a radio broadcast feels like a perfect fit for Stranger Things. Music has always played an important role in the series, whether it was introducing us to the atmosphere of the 1980s or helping characters survive their encounters with the Upside Down.
Five Seasons of Monsters and Memories
The official description promises three important things: the music, the monsters and the memories.
That means we could see everything from the earliest Demogorgon encounters to the arrival of the Mind Flayer and Vecna. The lagoon’s projection screens, fountains, lighting and surrounding buildings could allow the story to grow far beyond a traditional stage.
Some of the best lagoon shows have used the entire environment around the water, creating the feeling that the action is happening throughout the park rather than only on one screen. Stranger Things should give Universal plenty of opportunities to transform the lagoon into Hawkins, the Starcourt Mall and the dark red landscape of the Upside Down.
The show could also provide a more emotional look back at the series. Stranger Things has never been only about its monsters. Its friendships, sacrifices and memorable character moments are a major reason audiences have continued returning to Hawkins.
More Stranger Things at Halloween Horror Nights
Stranger Things already has a major presence in this year’s event with a haunted house inspired by the fifth and final season. The house will send guests into a final confrontation involving the Upside Down, Demogorgons, the Mind Flayer and Vecna.
Adding a lagoon show gives fans another way to experience the franchise during Halloween Horror Nights. The haunted house can focus on putting guests directly inside the danger, while Return to Hawkins can celebrate the complete journey of the series.
It also strengthens the event’s live entertainment lineup. After spending the night running from scareactors and navigating haunted houses, a lagoon show can offer a welcome opportunity to stop, watch and enjoy the atmosphere without completely escaping the horror.
Returning to Hawkins One More Time
Stranger Things: Return to Hawkins sounds like more than a collection of clips from the television series. The WSQK broadcast concept gives the production its own identity while allowing Halloween Horror Nights to revisit five seasons of unforgettable moments.
Between the familiar music, terrifying creatures and memories shared by the Hawkins crew, this could become one of the most emotional additions to Halloween Horror Nights 2026.
The signal is coming through, the Upside Down is waiting and it looks like we are returning to Hawkins one more time.
